Berlusconi sentenced to four years for tax fraud

A Milan court sentenced Silvio Berlusconi, three-time former Italian prime minister, to four years in prison for tax fraud.
Mr Berlusconi, 76, who has dominated Italian politics for two decades, was found guilty of using offshore companies to avoid taxes on the rights his television company Mediaset acquired for American movies.
Many such examples are required from around the world to deter fraudsters.

Due to 2006 amnesty law, his sentence has been reduced to 1 year. I wonder if he will even serve that.

Thanks for the update, atleast hope this serves as an example. He’s also banned from holding public office for five years, hopefully an end of the Berlusconi era.
